The setup
The Rocket Classic is played on Detroit Golf Club’s North Course in Detroit, Michigan, from July 30 through August 2. The 2026 setup is a par 70 measuring 7,328 yards. It is the first PGA TOUR visit after the club’s 2025 renovation: the route now has two par 5s, while Nos. 7 and 17 are long par 4s. That means this is not simply last year’s Detroit setup with a new date on the calendar; the shape of the week has changed with the course.
The week and weather
The National Weather Service calls for a sunny Thursday with a high near 85°F and north winds of 6–9 mph, followed by a mostly sunny Friday with a high near 87°F. Saturday carries a slight chance of rain showers before 2 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 82°F. What’s at stake
The Rocket Classic offers a $10 million purse and 500 FedExCup points to the winner. With only one regular-season week remaining after Detroit before the FedExCup Playoffs, the tournament has clear season weight without needing a prediction about who will carry it.
Aldrich Potgieter is the defending champion, and the official event site highlights a field that includes confirmed top-ranked players.
